General Info:
I was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where I grew up near the ocean which has been a strong influencer in my paintings. Graduated as "Doctor Veterinary Medicine", DVM (honor: Cum laude) in the Dominican Republic. I have lived in the USA since 1990, and lived in Miami, NYC, Rhode Island, and moved back to Miami/Homestead area since 2005.
I am an artist, artisan, photographer, poet, and always love my artistic career. Throughout my life, I have continued painting when I find spare time. From an early age, at 5 years old, I was inclined to do my art and drawing, and learned with the nuns at the Catholic School I attended, not only grow about my faith, but also took lessons on crochet, knitting, cross point, and other crafts. I come from an artistic family, and I inherited my artistic abilities for painting from my mother's side. Poetry from both sides of my families. I love my Dominican roots, culture, our music merengue, dance merengue, and
play the Dominican Tambora (drum).
As a teenager, I took art classes at the "Cándido Bidó Art Center" from renown Dominican late artist Cándido Bidó, founder of the art school, and late artist Guillo Pérez taught me everything about using colors. Among the themes I have painted; animals, landscaping, nature, the ocean series, palms series, agricultural series, other cultural scenarios, a mystic woman, mother nature, mystic figures, and Christian art too. My art style is expressed with vivid Caribbean colors, which are reflection of where I come from.
Once moved to Homestead, Fl, I continued taking art classes at the "ArtSouth School". I also enjoy transforming my oil or acrylic canvas into digital arts. Sometimes my photographs are a source of inspiration to create new paintings, too. "My Art Escapades", is the name which is the result of all my skill together, to show the world my passion.
I love macro and pet photography. During these recent years, I have been working in making my own style doing "Macrame Key Chains", and my store online is at Square site, called "My Art Escapades". I love creating these handmade products, which spice my life too.
I am now working in self-publishing my "Spanish Poetry book", hopefully by the year 2024, will be release. I would love to help others through the art, as I am Certificated in "Art Therapy Practitioner". I look forward to keep growing and evolving as an artist in this community, and beyond, to continue expand my artistic knowledge. Looking for future Solo exhibitions.
We enjoy traveling and cruising. I love all animals, nature, and I care about the welfare of animals in this town. We are proud to have a smart senior Wire Fox Terrier, his name is Duke.
