Stephen Brady will talk about the lesser known Myrtaceae suitable to grow in south Florida. These Myrtle family shrubs and trees contain about 150 genera and 3,300 species widely distributed in the tropics. In addition to the well known flowering Myrtle and the Eucalyptus, this group includes many fruits including guava, rose apple, Surinam cherry and jaboticaba, as well as spices including allspice, clove and bay rum.
