General info
The Historic Homestead Town Hall Museum, across from Losner Park on Krome Avenue, was the first municipal building in Homestead, Florida. The Town Hall, built in 1917, after the City incorporated in January 1913, served as the Town Hall, Jail, Fire House, and sometimes Court Room. Although damaged in Hurricane Andrew in 1992, great care was taken during the repairs to remain true to the original architecture. The museum is free and open to the public 1:00-5:00 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday and by appointment other times. Come for a visit or volunteer as a Docent to be a part of the area’s history.
